LEAD Scholars Program

We seek to expand and enhance the Leadership Excellence and Academic Development (LEAD) Scholars Program for first-generation college students.

The LEAD Scholars Program has attracted diverse and gifted first-generation college students and provided them with a four-year structured set of academic and co-curricular experiences that has resulted in higher graduation rates compared with their counterparts. Expansion of the program will include: (1) increasing the number of first-generation college students served, (2) increasing the scope of support, courses, and leadership opportunities for second-, third-, and fourth-year students, and (3) increasing fellowship opportunities for students to engage in high-impact practices, including study abroad, internships, undergraduate research, and vocational exploration.
